Hotel Tips

The most important advice to international travelers is to download a good translation app on their phones. While the hotel is big, it primarily serves domestic business travelers. Therefore, English speaking staff at the front desk and restaurants can be quite limited. Being able to present written translations will smooth check-in, restaurant orders, and any special requests.

To maximize the use of the hotel's facilities, schedule time to enjoy the on-site spa and sauna. After a long day either in meetings or discovering the industrial zones, this is such a great and easy way to relax and unwind without having to leave the hotel. Most often, the hotel's Chinese restaurant is also a good bet for a high-quality dinner.

Take the metro. This is, after all, the actual reason for recommending this hotel—it sits right on top of Songgang station (a key interchange between Line 6 and Line 11). You zip down fast, clean Line 11 all the way to Futian CBD or even the Hong Kong border crossing in about an hour, completely skipping Shenzhen’s infamous traffic. Suddenly it makes sense as a practical if remote, base from which to explore the entire city.

Finally, wander the streets surrounding your hotel either early in the morning or late at night for a real local experience. This is when all the small local street food vendors and family-run breakfast shops operate. Have a taste of real Cantonese-style dim sum, congee, or steamed buns for something very close to what you pay for a hotel breakfast,
